About The Foundation
Did you know that rainforests are home to 67% of all living animals and plants on our Earth? An estimated total of hundreds of millions of species of flora, insects and microorganisms have yet to be discovered in these great greens, vastly known as the “jewels of the Earth.”
On top of that, some have also likened the rainforests as the “world’s largest pharmacy” as immense amounts of natural medicines have been—and are waiting to be—found.
One prime example of a lush Malaysian tropical rainforest is the Belum-Temengor Rainforest, located midway between the east and west coasts of Peninsula Malaysia in Gerik, Perak.
Over 130 million years in age and encompassing 300,000 hectares, this tropical paradise is home to a vast number of species of animals and plants, many of which cannot be found anywhere else in the world.
In fact, scientific studies indicate that the pristine Belum-Temengor Rainforest, hold enormous potential for the discovery of more biological treasures.
